If a young person experiences a negative interaction with the law and justice system, that can cause them to have lasting consequences mentally and emotionally which may lead to a lack of stability or self-confidence. That individual may feel like they have been targeted unfairly and might begin to lash out at the law to make themselves feel better and to regain their confidence. This course of action can start a downward spiral from a young age that will affect the rest of their lives.
Our Youth Advocacy program focuses on young people, from children to teens, stay on the right path when faced with early interactions with the police, law and justice systems. Whether it is a simple warning, an arrest or conviction, our youth advocates can provide mental and emotional support for individuals who are caught in a bad situation with the law, including court hearings and also take steps to ensure that a criminal record will not follow them into the future.
